This site is developed for Belgian client and it is the first dating site in Belgium. It's written in PHP4,
is MySQL database driven and integrates English, French and Dutch language version.
Website visitors have to log-in first. After that they can set their profile, location, visibility and set some other controls
(sexuality, age controls, etc). On the other side they can set their match criteria, set cities from their matches should be etc.
Every visitor has ability to upload up to three photographs. There are 3 levels of match criteria importance:
Vital, Important and Of Interest. Visitor can manage their attitude as well. When
they set all they want, the only thing they have to do to find their soul mate is a single click.
Visitors can communicate in several ways. The most common way is by sending email through date4u email system. Next way is through
date4u chat service called "Whispers" (only for on-line visitors), or by means of SMS messages. For those who don't know
what to write, or don't have inspiration at the moment there are some short template message called "Teases".
Teases can be sent by email, SMS or Whispers. Above all these possibilities visitors can send presents to each other too.
There are two types of visitor's accounts: free and advanced. For visitors that have advanced account all communications (excluding SMS)
are free of charge. Those with free account have to pay for every communication.
Visitors can vote for each other. Based on this votes popularity top list is obtained. There are also top lists for visitors
who sent most SMS messages and for visitors with most log-in sessions. Periodically users at the top of top lists are rewarded
with certain amount of credix (money unit used at Date4u site).
In the Site Admin part there are several permission levels. Site Admin can manage: text on each page, content of every combo box,
site's help, presents and their groups, etc. He can validate text entered by visitors and photos they uploaded as well.
